Spring is slowly (I mean slowly) making its arrival here in the NYC area – I can’t help but start daydreaming about shorts weather, beach days, and of course Summer Fridays…
Well, I digress, the fact is that NYC in the summer is a special place and it also creates a beautiful backdrop for shooting marketing videos, corporate video projects, and brand films.
So, whether you’re a marketing professional charged with developing video content, or a brand strategist trying to determine how to best tell your story using video.
Here are three tips to help you take advantage of the summer weather for your NYC video production:
1) Plan ahead.
The saying about the best-laid plans rings true when it comes to determining when to shoot your video production in NYC. Set-up your production with flexibility and keep an eye on the long-term forecast as you get close the to the production date.
2) Scout. Scout. Scout.
When you’re coordinating a video production in NYC it’s all about finding the right locations. Maybe you have a great spot in mind, or maybe you need to find something that fits the story you’re trying to tell. In either case, it’s recommended that you scout in advance so that you can be aware of all of the particulars and how they may impact your video shoot.
3) Know the rules.
In most cases, you can shoot your video production in NYC without permits. However, every project is unique and depending on your locations and requirements you may need permits so make sure you do your due diligence.
