NYC Video Pros is led by Executive Producer, Jason Cohen. With a rich background in media production and client services, Cohen is well versed to help clients identify and craft video solutions that meet their needs.
To that end, in 2006 as the online space started to grow, Cohen launched CityCast Media, LLC, with the goal of leveraging a then-nascent medium; Podcasting. After early success of leveraging Podcasts for organizations like the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), the Graduate Management Admissions Council (GMAC), as well as the launch of CityCast: New York (a video podcast that Apple featured as “New and Notable”) Cohen turned his attention to video production.
With the advent of the iPhone and later the iPad, CityCast Media, and later NYC Video Pros have worked to help clients identify a wide variety of new opportunities to create targeted video content. The organization, under Cohen’s leadership, has crafted video solutions in any number of formats from promotional videos, to patient documentaries, brand films, short films, as well as the orchestration of multi-camera broadcast-quality live video streaming events.
Over the course of his career, Cohen has led initiatives for a variety of organizations including Fujifilm, Hain Celestial, NCIS, the New York City Bar Association, Psychology Today, as well as the NBA, the Underfashion Club, and Mount Sinai.
Prior to opening CityCast Media and NYC Video Pros, Cohen opened and managed the New York office of Strauss Media Strategies, and created marketing campaigns for Nike, IBM, the American Lung Association, and Save the Children, among others.
Cohen’s professional experiences also include working as a Marketing Analyst at Artesia Technologies (a digital asset management firm), production and producing roles with Cablevision’s Rainbow Media and News 12 divisions, as well as work with Court TV and WPLJ-FM.
Mr. Cohen earned both his BA (in American Studies and Electronic Media) and his MBA (in International Business and Marketing) from The George Washington University. He was General Manager, and Graduate Assistant of the University’s radio station, WRGW, where he led a quarter-million dollar project to build a new studio facility which resulted in his winning the prestigious GW Award in recognition of his work.
A native New Yorker Cohen enjoys traveling, sports (he’s a die-hard Mets fan), and exploring developments in media, movies and new music.
